CUFBC welcomes Nick Wong and Brent Jossy to its Board of Directors

VANCOUVER – The Credit Union Foundation of BC (CUFBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Trustees to its board of directors. Joining the board will be Nick Wong (GVC Credit Union) and Brent Jossy (Kootenay Savings Credit Union).

“We’re excited to welcome our newest trustees” says Bill Corbett, CUFBC President. “Nick and Brent bring a diverse set of skills as well as years of experience in the credit union system, and we look forward to their contributions.”

Nick Wong is the current Operations Manager at GVCCU. He has close to 30 years of experience in the Canadian credit union system, having served in numerous leadership roles. Nick is a member of the BCFSA Technical Working Group on Loan Data Reporting Requirements, as well as the Vice-Chair of CCUA’s Small/Medium-Sized Credit Union Committee. He has also been involved as a member of the Credit Union Retail Lender’s Peer Group. Nick welcomes the opportunity to serve as a Trustee on the CUFBC board.

“I see the foundation as a source of important financial support to our members and those seeking post-secondary education in BC. Our collective backing of these individuals helps develop future leaders and provides a net social benefit to communities and the province as a whole. I look forward to working with the foundation board to advance these goals.”

Brent Jossy is a seasoned financial services professional, currently serving as the Manager of Marketing & Brand Experience at Kootenay Savings Credit Union. With over a decade of leadership experience including previous roles as Branch Manager at both Kootenay Savings and Scotiabank, Brent excels in brand strategy, digital integration and community engagement. He lives in Kimberley, BC, with his wife Leah and their two children. Brent is an active community member, spending time volunteering and coaching various activities. He can be found Nordic skiing in the winters and running the vast network of trails in the summers. He is honoured to be part of the CUFBC board in support of the cooperative movement.

“I am passionate about the credit union movement and committed to its values. I want to use my experience to help the foundation continue making a positive impact in our communities. Together, we can ensure the foundation remains a strong force for good within the credit union system and beyond.”

The foundation provides awards and support to post-secondary students throughout their educational journey.
