The CUFBC is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Trustees to its board of directors. Joining the board will be Mark McLoughlin (Kootenay Savings Credit Union) and Raveen Seran (Tru Cooperative Bank).
“We’re excited to extend a warm welcome to our newest trustees” says Bill Corbett, CUFBC President. “Mark and Raveen bring an extensive set of skills as well as years of experience in the credit union system, and we look forward to their contributions.”

Mark McLoughlin: Mark McLoughlin was appointed President & CEO of Kootenay Savings Credit Union (KSCU) in 2022. Prior to joining KSCU, Mark worked with the Saskatchewan Government where in 2017, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Advanced Education, followed by an appointment as Deputy Minister of Environment. Previous to that, Mark spent 10 years in the credit union system in various executive management positions with Envision Financial and First West Credit Unions. In addition, he sat on the Board of First Calgary Savings & Credit Union for six years and held the position of Board Chair for the latter half of his Board tenure.
Mark’s experience in the higher education sector includes a role as Director of Development for the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus, and executive roles at Olds College in Alberta. Mark has also worked with many professional and amateur sporting organizations, including four years with the Canadian Football League Players Association in numerous capacities. Mark enjoyed a very successful 17-year career as a player in the CFL, winning three Grey Cup Championships. Mark holds an MBA in Leadership and Management from York St. John University in York, England, and a B.Ed. Kinesiology from the University of South Dakota.

Raveen Seran: Raveen Seran is Vice President, Enterprise Risk at Tru Cooperative Bank, where he leads the enterprise risk, resiliency, risk analytics and financial crime teams. With more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian credit union system, Raveen provides strategic oversight of risk governance, regulatory alignment and organizational resilience, supporting the bank’s long-term sustainability and member-focused mission. He has served as a board and committee member for several non-profit organizations and looks forward to serving as a Trustee on the CUFBC board.

The Credit Union Foundation of British Columbia is a cooperative philanthropic organization of the credit union system, founded and funded in 1958 by BC credit union members. The foundation provides awards and support to post-secondary students throughout their educational journey. The foundation also supports international co-operative programs and oversees the Distinguished Service Awards, given to industry leaders who have furthered the credit union movement in BC.
