The Credit Union Foundation of BC (CUFBC) is inviting applications for the position of Board Trustee. We’re seeking candidates for 3-year terms who will take office following the AGM on May 7, 2026.
The CUFBC board is made up of dynamic and thoughtful individuals from across the credit union system, working to empower students and cultivate leaders who make positive impacts in their communities. Over the past few years, the foundation has made some significant strategic updates to ensure that we’re supporting the CU system and creating meaningful impact. Changes include:
- providing increased funding to members through post-secondary bursaries, especially to those facing barriers to education and to those pursuing social impact careers
- grant funding to provide wrap-around support to students
- increased grants to strengthen international co-operative initiatives
- additional promotion of the Distinguished Service Awards to honour contributions to the system and the co-operative movement
With the current evolution of the system, the foundation is actively thinking about how we too can change moving forward. We’re interested in finding some strategic leaders with an interest in helping us plan how we evolve, If you or someone you’d recommend would like to contribute, you’ll help to shape/expand the foundation’s positive impacts for years to come.
Some of the questions we’re looking at:
- how to ensure the foundation remains relevant and adds value to credit unions
- whether our scope should expand beyond the borders of BC
- how the CUFBC can help to administer/support credit union social impact & philanthropic programs
If you’re interested in running for a Trustee position or know an individual who might be interested, please email info@cufoundation.org. The deadline to receive expressions of interest is March 16, 2026. Can’t commit to a board role but would like to be a part of the discussion? Let us know!
